Charges not included in the normal monthly cost: Overfull/Overflowing Dumpster (after 3 warnings to increase service); Broken Lid Replacement (if broken in less than 1 year); Dumpster Refurbishment - damage or graffiti (if request is less than 1 year); Late Charge; Returned Payment Charge; Add-On Items (locking mechanism, wheels, gates to open and close).

When is a bill considered late?

Invoices are due in 30 days. A past due notice is sent at 40 days. A late fee is charged at 45 days. A suspension notice is sent at 50 days.

Environmental fees are paid by Total Waste on your behalf to the landfill or disposal site.

We do not have Admin Fees.

No dumpster refresh fees?

Accepted Answer

We do not have dumpster refresh fees. Typically after 5 to 7 years we replace the dumpster and recondition the old one at our yard.

No credit card merchant fees?

If you pay your bill by credit card we pay the 3% merchant fee for you, our customer.

What happens if my container is blocked?

We send notice of the blocked pickup and try to come back that week.

Can the driver call me or wait for me to unblock the dumpster?

Accepted Answer

No - drivers are not allowed to make phone calls and do not try to find who is blocking the dumpster. The dumpster must be unblocked and ready for pickup on the pickup day until pickup occurs.

How much time do I have to report a missed pickup?

Report a missed pickup within 24 hours (if reported days later there will be trash in the container). We check pickup via GPS or video cameras for proof; if there is no proof of pickup we provide an extra pickup at no cost.

How do I request an extra pickup?

What if my pickup falls on a holiday?

If the holiday is on a Monday, all routes move forward one day. If the holiday is on a Thursday or Friday, stops are picked up one day early.

Due to inclement weather routes may be canceled; we will send a message to let you know.

I think my property was damaged

Accepted Answer

You have up to 36 hours to report property damage. We check the time, date and location. Email customerservice@totalwaste.us with your information and we will research it.

How can I cancel my service?

Accepted Answer

Email customerservice@totalwaste.us with your account name and account number from the email address on file. We will look up your contract end date. Cancelling before the end of a contract may result in early termination fees.
